Trek Marlin 5 Gen 2 vs Cannondale trail 5 mountain bike

Hi I am looking to decide b/w Marlin 5 Gen 2 vs trail 5 mountain bike for my first bike.

Which one would be better?

If you're a downhill guy, the Trek is going to be superior. It has a more aggressive stem suited for downhill.

Otherwise, it seems like the Cannondale runs the higher end components.
