Hi everyone,
We've just published the first review in our new format for the bikes we test ourselves. It's built around one idea: measure everything, and show all of it.
The first one is the Jasion Thunder Pro ST, a full-suspension fat-tire e-bike:
Jasion Thunder Pro Review: We Tested Every Claim
What's different
The full test protocol is public if you want to dig into the details: How We Test Bikes
What we'd like to hear from you
Anything else, good or bad, is welcome too. We read every reply and will use them to shape the next reviews.
Thanks,
Rasmus
We've just published the first review in our new format for the bikes we test ourselves. It's built around one idea: measure everything, and show all of it.
The first one is the Jasion Thunder Pro ST, a full-suspension fat-tire e-bike:
Jasion Thunder Pro Review: We Tested Every Claim
What's different
- The same tests for every bike. Every e-bike goes through the same tests on the same documented courses: two range tests, at least two hill climbs, 0–20 mph acceleration, braking distance, a verified weigh-in and a timed assembly.
- Claims checked against measurements. We put the manufacturer's claims side by side with what we measured. Jasion's 35 mph top speed held up (GPS-verified). The 500 lb payload claim turned out to be, in Jasion's own words, a 270 lb riding limit.
- Results in context. Every result is shown next to similar bikes and the 86 e-bikes we've tested the same way, so you can see at a glance whether a number is good for its class.
- A score built only from our own tests. The review shows how every part of it was calculated.
- Who should NOT buy it. Every review says who the bike is a poor fit for, not just who it suits.

What we'd like to hear from you
- Is anything missing that you'd want to know before buying a bike?
- Which results matter most to you: range, hill climbing, braking, comfort, weight, or something else?
- The review is long. Is it easy to find what you're looking for, or should we change the layout?
- Do any of the tests seem unfair? For example, we test range at medium and max assist, while Jasion's 90-mile figure is for the lowest assist level. Should we add a lowest-assist range test too?
- Which bikes should we test next?
Anything else, good or bad, is welcome too. We read every reply and will use them to shape the next reviews.
Thanks,
Rasmus
