Trek or DiamondBack Mountain
#1
If you had $500.00 or a little more, what bike would you suggest for being most dependable and last a long time.
Trek or a DiamondBack ?
And any opinions are more than welcome and needed.
Thanks,

My old Trek SU100 (for $400.00) has about six years and approximately 30,000 miles on it. Probably went 15,000 before I had to replace the derailleur. Trek is a nuisance getting replacement parts and only will deal through certain authorized dealerships, but that might be an industry wide problem. I can't speak for DiamondBack, best of luck.

Diamondback are not too bad, I have one, but make sure you get the best higher end you can find as they had some questionable low end ones.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Diamond back now (unfortunately) is part of the same conglomerate as Raleigh, Avenir, etc. At LOT worse than Trek to deal with. They totally ignore you.

The pre-buy out Diamondback bikes are great; and I would not hesitate getting one for a project. I already have a Trek Smile - and it is a great bike too.

My experience with Specialized has been great. Just try calling Trek with a problem. Go ahead, try it.

+1 to what Nigel said. That I didn't think about.
