Rear disc brake is rubbing [Solved]

I have a brand new MTB and the rear disc break is already rubbing/squeaking. What are the easiest fixes? Thanks

Welcome to the wonderful world of disc brakes. What make and model? was it an internet purchase? Local bike shop? or a box store like Dick's or Walmart? Was it professionally assembled?

Santa Cruz Blur, professionally assembled from my local shop. They said the rotor was slightly bent but not enough to warrant reshaping it, they just back off the outer caliper. Which I could've done myself..

well just my opinion, If they are not going to do anything about it. I would replace the rotor, if you do not think you damaged the rotor, have them replace it. The only other thing it could be is contaminated pads/rotor. One other thing you could try is re-centering the caliper by loosening the two bolts, squeezing the lever and holding it while you re tighten the bolts.

The bike shop adjusted the calipers and it seems fine. They said the rotor bend is so slight there was no need to replace it - I couldn't even see the bend in it but if it happens again, I'll take your suggestions. Thanks!

I had similar issue with my Merida mountain bike and hydraulic disc brakes, front one to be precise. I simply adjusted caliper with its mount bolts and we were ready to go!
