Shifters, v-brake, disc brakes.. confused..

OK.. I been trying to fix up a bike we got but we have to replace the brakes, and shifters and front and back derailers.

Question is.. The front brake is disc back is v-brake. Can I use basic brake levers for both? Its will be a mechanical disc brake on front.

V-brake cable pull is fine for mech disc. How many speed is the rear cluster?

I'll just recommend that you price out everything you'll need before buying. You may find that the parts add up to close to what it would cost to just get a whole new bike of the same quality. This isn't unusual when you have to buy a lot of main components. May be worth it, but check first.  Good luck

Which is probably why this bike is missing those components.......

Its running a 3x7 for gears. If V-brake pull is ok for a mechanical disc brake. Will these work? Keep in mind this bike is not to do any hard riding. We just need something to get my wife on so we can all ride as a family. Smile
