Hayes Mechanical Front Disc alignment
#1
I have Hayes MX3 Mechanical Disc Brakes front & back, and had to remove front wheel and when I reinstalled the front wheel I am having difficulty in adjusting the disc with equal spacing between the outside & inside brake pads. Each time I tighten the quick release I have the outer pad dragging as the wheel is spun through on rotation. Is there a trick to setting & keeping an even space between the pads & disc while tightening the quick release?

Make sure your axle is firmly mounted in your fork dropouts, and then tighten the quick release lever. Once this is done you may have to adjust the pad position. Is there a side-to-side adjustment screw on your brake calipers?
