Noob Needs Help with Saddle Post Clamp Ordering

The bottom part of the clamp that secures my saddle broke. I have some pictures:



You can see how the bottom clamp is broke and bent. I think someone was trying to steal the seat. Where can I order this part online?

The saddle is from a Canadia firm called spider, it's noseless. Thanks in advance.

You need to determine the diameter of your saddle post first. Than check with google or amazon. I doubt you can find repair parts, buy you can get a new post for $15 or so. Check with your local bike dealer.

Looks like 1 inch in diameter.

There are lots of seats close to one inch from 25.4 mm (1") to 27.2mm. Seat post needs to be measured very carefully.

Looks like it's 26.6 millimeters. I never would've thought there could be a difference of 1mm.

That helps ye the differences can be very small. Look around maybe you can just swap parts from a used one.Take it to a local dealer. Not everything is solved with a computer.

I would check the stamping on the post you have, it should tell you. Look closer. Some of those Treks came with a post shim from the factory. If your post was swapped at some point in time and you ordered the 26.6 and it had a shim from the factory it will not fit right. Check twice buy once

Yup. Seat posts are sold in .2mm increments. If you are off by a size it will not fit - either only brute force will make it go down or you need to almost brake the clamp to fix it - and then it will still slip at the most inconvenient point in time. The LBS has a tool to measure the inner diameter of the seat tube. When in doubt: let them measure but then also order from them (this will not really be more expensive than shopping online)
