Cannondale Transport Fork Mount Rack for Truck
#1
I picked up on market place the Cannondale Transport carrier for my 82' F150. Nice basic fork mount set up for two bikes. built solid but lacking in security features. It came with standard wheel skewers so I replaced them with Delta brand skewers that take a special key to tighten and loosen. This improvement alone makes it very difficult to steal the bikes. And to deter removal of the rack its self I installed nuts to lock on the spin knobs to make it hassle to remove by hand without tools. I have had hundreds of dollars wrapped in roof racks in the past. I have a 2 bike hitch mount rack that I love but no longer have a hitch on any of my cars. After I sell that I will have about $50 in this set up for my truck, and almost impossible to steal without damaging the bike while trying if left unattended for any amount of time.

works great, so nice in fact that i would like to find another, then I could haul 4 bikes comfortably. and ad front wheel mounts with the locking skewers. I just sold one of my two bike hitch mount racks for $50 so I have only $60 wrapped up in this truck rack including the delta skewer mod. Could not be happier. The extra one would really only be for when I travel to pick up bicycles to refurbish and flip. Old Babyblu is a regular cab and usually only two people in it at any given time. If you know me then you know I love the older stuff. My truck is an 82' and my car is a 98'. Both will last me til I die. I use the same method on them That I post about bikes on here about preserving and paint correction and still all done by hand without the use of buffers. I live it and I do myself what I try to teach others about preservation and restoration. This is original paint and strip package on old blue, and yes it is a single stage paint that was nothing but blue chalk when I acquired her years ago. Done just like I do bicycles just a much larger scale.
