Schwinn Meridian (Adult Trike) Back Wheels Stopped Turning
#1
Hi all,

I just got a Schwinn Meridian Trike and went on a nice short uneventful ride today - it worked well - and then after doing something else for a bit, I got back on the bike and the pedals wouldnt turn the rear 2 wheels.
Both chains seem to be attached and turning, but for some reason the front chain isn’t moving the rear 2 wheels.
I don’t understand what could’ve possibly happened. Did I unknowingly hit a trigger on the bike?
Does anyone have experience with these bikes and knows what may have happened?

Those trikes have front and rear brake lockouts. Make sure they are not engaged. I think all you need to do is squeeze the brake levers to release them. If that is not the issue then I would pop off the front chain and confirm that the rear hub, rear brake, and cranks are not seized up for some reason. Rear wheels and cranks should should turn freely with the chain removed.

If your chain tension and alignment is perfect then check the hub. Lift the wheel and check the freewheel, adjust the hub tension but I am guessing in your case taking it to a bike service will be much easier and efficient.
