What is your favorite MTB trail/route in Australia?

Got this great thread idea from @Nicholas . He has one on America if you're interested.

My favourite mountain bike track in Australia is Bayview in Queensland, which has a huge range of technical, flow and such a great variety of tracks.

If you make it to the trails in Montauk single track you would love it. Tick invasion. Do you have ticks in ausie.?

@SPINMAN, Is that Montauk single track on Long Island, NY? The trails in the Northeast are full of ticks… :-(

Not sure if you’d prefer ticks over leeches, but here in the Himalayas, it’s leeches and black flies—like the ones I used to encounter in the White Mountains of NH. So, I’m not sure which is worse!

Sure do @SPINMAN. Do a thorough body check after every ride, especially during summer.

Just curious, @Flowrider and @SPINMAN — have you noticed an uptick in ticks recently, or have they always been around? I lived in the northeast US for over 10 years, and ticks weren’t an issue until the past few. Suddenly they seemed to spread everywhere, with Lyme disease becoming much more common. I also started finding ticks on me after hikes, whereas before I never saw any.

Curious how the situation is in Down Under and Florida?

Hey @GirishH. We haven't noticed an increase in my area. Though in some areas they are more active than others. We just do a check after every (summer especially) ride.

Snakes are making a return now that summer has kicked in.

what are the ratings of these trails? is there a trail system which has a lot of various levels like green, blue red and black? I'd like to visit Australia one day and bring family to try mountain biking in a different country, most of the stuff we have here are all blue and green with an occasional red level trail but rarely we get to encounter a black or a double black diamond trail here so we probably would need to go thru a few easier ones first before sending on harder ones

That's right, @GirishH. Last 10-15 years noticeable increase and variety of diseases. 25-30 years ago wasn't even a conversation. My wife has had Lyme for 10 years now controlled with herbs but tough to live with.

Something we're looking forward to in my neighbourhood is the mountain bike Olympics are going to be held at our local tracks at Parklands!
Super cool!
