Folding eBike Experience!
#1
There are many aspects to take into consideration when thinking about purchasing a folding e-bike at a very cheap price. You can purchase this type of folding e-bike from anywhere online. And of course, this could it be an investment for the long term? Are you able to find a reliable e-bike to commute on? Do you think it is robust?
It is true that many people tend to ignore these elements since they're focused on price instated of quality. If they find something cheap and they are enticed to purchase it, this is not a good idea according to my experience.

So, how do you make an informed purchase when you are evaluating the best folding bikes? For a consumer, it's not just the cost that is important. Quality is also important at the same time. Bu many buyers struggle to see the difference between better quality and less costly folding e-bikes. This is one reason that most of them look for the best price.

Cheap folding bikes are able to be folded but, if they are low-quality then the steering wheel could be damaged while riding. Of course, nobody would want to own the folding e-bike that abruptly stops riding.

If you take a look at ActBikes you'll find that it comes with double safety latches - an essential component of an e-bike that helps make sure that the hinges are secure and tight regardless of speed or the intensity with which the rider is visit link for more details.

Steering and frame hinge points are only a couple aspects to be concerned about while all of the other components, features, and function of desisgn must also be considered in determining the overall quality.
Items built in a certain country must meet their safety protocols and regulations, as well as meeting those of the importing country. Most of the poor quality regarding cheap bikes (and other products) results from poor manufacturing processes and assembly (be it by the factory, dealer/store, and/or owner). Bikes, due to their inherent dangerous use are vigorously tested for safety shortcomings in design and production. Products failing while in the marketplace would be recalled fairly quickly (one would hope), and would not be available for long. The company selling them may not be in business very long either.
I would be interested to know what specific manufacturer builds those folding frames since most bikes are now mass produced by a few very large manufacturing plants which are going to encounter quality issues regardless due to the sheer volume of production and the inherent problems that occur. Unfortunately, a "brand" name is no longer indicative of the actual manufacturer which could potentially be making essentially the same product for multiple companies.
If only one example is provided by you then you have given us nothing to compare "your" bike with except that which the seller provides for marketing their specific brand. What is your experience with the bike, how many miles/Kms have you ridden it, what is its weight, how easy is it do breakdown and store?
That doesn't even start to address all of the specific quality and performance features just to make it a good bike, or a good ebike. No one wants to be stuck miles away from their destination because of a bad motor, locked-up hub, etc.; regardless of how good the frame locking mechanisms are.
One thing that you did not do, which would provided some actual safety information, was to give any company names and/or models that are marketing the suicide bikes with faulty front wheel/steerer designs.

I agree on your assessment. It is fine to name a bike you have real world experience with (riding, servicing, etc.) without providing another to compare it to, but when a comment is provided that seems like a veiled attempt at marketing it should be clarified as being just that; or provide multiple examples from different companies to eliminate the potential assumption of bias that might be perceived by others whether there was that intent or not.
There would be no problem (in my opinion, and if allowed by this site) to post this in the "marketplace" forum, but again with its clear intent shown as marketing for a specific product or company, and not just a public service announcement stating one potential safety issue with, as yet, unknown folding biked presently on the market.
Take care,
Jesper
