Campagnoli seat post ID
#1
Trying to determine what seat post I have. Similar, yet different. I think one is a Chorus, but I don't know if the other one (with "shield" logo) is a variant or a different model. I appreciate any knowledge that might be given. Sorry for the misspelling of Campy, but I can't change it.

Possibly a Croce d'Aune. I would have to compare with a known example. Camp. had a few back then that were aero style and very similar: Chorus, Croce, Victory/Triomphe; maybe Athena. They are great posts in both form and function (and getting quite expensive!). Have you tried looking on Velobase? I have one similar with "splines" in the post interior (pretty sure mine is Victory '84-'88); does yours have the same design?

Looking at your photos I'd say that they are different (excluding the logo), but not by much. The "shield" post does not seem to have any tapering at the front or rear where the post goes from round to oval; there does however appear to be a distinct, albeit small, taper at the front and rear above the "CAMPAGNOLO" band on your "Chorus"(?) example. That may be what sets them apart, I don't know.
Take care,
Jesper

Hi Papa Dom, and Jesper,

Thanks for the insight. I will put calipers on it to check for that taper. They are both 27.2 mm so if there is a taper I would assume a different group model, or model year variant. I post what I find, Camp. catalogs can't always be trusted as I'm finding out.

Edit: both posts pictured have internal splines.
