Raleigh Sprite
#1
Searched for "Sprite", but only the soft drink appeared. New year project, before photo. Saddle borrowed for another frame, but otherwise complete and begging for a complete overhaul.

Search Railegh sprite or the Sheldon Brown website. I have the same one unfortunately someone took off the fenders (mudguards). And thingy on the back.

Your bike looks fairly clean with a very decent original saddle. Due to the medical crisis (I work in a hospital), I have not done as much as I wanted yet on this (and other projects), although mine was in decent shape overall. My rims were corroded, previous owner just painted the rims/spokes, but hubs are good. I have yet to check the serial for a year of manufacture (I believe a '76, but front chainring guard doesn't match any model I've seen), but with the "self-adjusting" brake levers it can't be before 1971 or after '76; '77 and later also had alloy brakes. The rear rack is a Swiss made Pletscher; came as a standard feature. I have the same one on my 1970 Raleigh Sports. They are very easy to find used; should not be more than $10 for a very good used one. I probably have a spare I've taken off another bike; very common on European bikes of all types.
