How to tell if the Chainrings are worn.
#1
I have a Shimano RSX drivetrain 7x3 speeds. I got it used recently. I saw the teeth on the chainrings with different length. Some of teeth are shorter then the others. Are the shorter teeth the result of wearing? When i rode the bike, it was really good, the shifting was so smooth.

The chainrings often have shorter teeth (on purpose). These shorter teeth are designed to help the chain shift on and off the chainrings, so your chainrings are probably fine! Worn chainrings look like shark teeth, which you can see at the end of this video.
