My cheap bicycle stand just disintegrated in front of my eyes. Buy cheap.....get cheap. Anyways, I am looking for a lightweight and durable work stand. Ease of clamping is a big concern. I was looking at the Park stands and was quite impressed.
Thanks for your input.

Park Tool PCS-10, works great for me 7 years from now, I do work/repair 20-25 bikes a year

Easy to store, hold the bike steadily...

I have a Park PRS-11 stand. About 25yrs old and still working great.
Shop grade. I would not mind getting a bench mount one sometime. It is always nice to have a couple once in awhile.where are you located?
Here are some nice ones I just found on a quik search

How do you ever get the bike to be stationary and secure to work on when it is just hanging?

I had thought on the fly, I gave some great examples of what one could easily find for used stand equipment, yes they may seem pricey but do to the way one can hold a bike in a multitude of firm positions it is a no brainer. get a stand, a quality stand. but again, if only working your own bike, and not fixing other's bikes, well suits yourself. That is your problem at that point, tell your self how great it is to work on bikes without one. Personally, I could use two bench mount, and 2 floor/stand mount, and at least 1 more mobile style stand.

I wedge the front wheel between 2 boxes, It works for me at this point! Maybe later when the basement is found again will get one but for now it's good.
