Back wheel buckle
#1
Hello all. I'm a novice cyclist and I know the basics of repair. However, I was cycling home from work last week and when I pushed down on the pedal the back wheel buckled to the left. I pushed it central again but one push on the pedal and again it simply pulled to the left.

I've checked the bolts and they are solid and true, could this be a bearings/axle problem? It's a claud butler mountain bike.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Some more information about your bike can help, photo's would be better.
Does the nut slid one way or the other when this happens?
Hi FredS here, as I can not get my old sign-on to work and have not had any luck at getting the password reset; I have started over with this sign-on.

The nut doesn't move either way. It's a second hand bike and didn't cost that much. I want to learn as much as I can about bikes as I do want to cycle more long term and distance. I am trying to upload pics but not overly computer savvy. What other information would be helpful?

There is a lack of clarity that needs to be addressed.
1) The front of the rear wheel moves to the left (the non-drive side)?
2) The top of the rear wheel moves to the left (the non-drive side)?
3) Is the rear wheel bolted (with nuts) or quick release?
