Tire wear near valve stem
#1
Hope this will work as a useful trick, but it's too soon to tell....

My last 2 flat tires have been due to tube wear at or near the valve stem. (on the load bearing rear wheel) So i've tried a reinforcing patch cut from an old tube with a donut hole in the middle to fit over the valve stem. Possible solution FWIW....

File a bit of the inside and the outside valve hole in your rims!

Is that because the hole's too small, or because the edges are sharp against the rubber?

More then likely because you have a bur somewhere on the hole which in turn punctures the valve stem. Then again if it is too small it may rub the rubber down low enough to crack it open.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
