Derailer problem

hi i'm new to this site and was wondering if anybody could help me cos i'm having a flipping nightmare with my derailer its a shimano sram 3.0 and i just cant set it up. I've been trying for the past 5 hour i've followed the videos but there is no tension screw on this derailer help me please.

If this is a new bike, get it back to your supplier, if bought on-line, tell them it's faulty, they should tell you to get it fixed at a lbs and send them the bill.

But Shimano and Sram are 2 completely separate manufacturers, and it's not usual for their parts to be used together.

There isn't enough detail in your question to help you with detailed instructions, the type and make of derraileur and shifter is needed, and what problems you are experiencing, at least.

thanks i didn't know they were too separate makes so is it impossible to use them together ? The shifters are shimano stx 7 speed rapid fire and the derailer is an sram 3.0 7 speed i imagine cos its standard with the bike.

Am on the right forum ? I have a Mountain bike using an SRAM X9 short cage derailleur and SRAM X7 trigger shifters - shifting from high to low (Small to big sprocket) gears is so tight - I have checked cables/housings etc. and can't find any reason for this tightness cable housings are neither too long nor too short and can't find any reason for this problem - any advice ? Thanks

Mike. Best not to start a new subject within another post. Even if it is about derailleurs. This is called "hijacking" someone else's post. You are in the right forum. But post it separately. Better chance of getting a response to your question.
