Noobie bike build
#1
Hello,
I have now found a frame for "project noobie bike build" I really don't think it's anything special, but it is very light and for the type of use it will get, that's ideal. It all seems straight as much as i can tell, is there a way to tell? But all things being equal in that respect, the only problem i can see, Is where the rear derailleur allen fixing bolt goes in to the frame the thread is damaged. It will need re threading, but i have no clue where to start with this job and don't know what taps and dyes i will need. Can anyone assist please?
Thanks Phil.

You could try one of these: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/RD405Z00-Drop+Out+Saver+Kits+And+Repl+Inserts.aspx

You can also get just the insert: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/I.D.-drop-out-saver-insert-to-save-your-damaged-frame_W0QQitemZ370244867383QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=118009015136&rvr_id=118009015136&cguid=29a1d22812a0a0a9f4b18101fffac7e2.

Search Google for "Dropout Saver" to find one in the US.

Please give location this list is international and locals know whats available locally.

As per derailleur hanger you can, retap, use inserts ,or IMO just drill out and use a short bolt, nut with lock washer.

You sure got big plans, making any progress. :-)))

I am gonna guess UK, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia. Don't gripe at me if I am wrong.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
