Promax TX-120 V-brake Review
#1
Decided to take the Specialized Hardrock budget racer build out for an 8 mile single track ride and the results are in. Do NOT BUY this brake and lever set. For serious off-road riding they will kill you. To much lever travel and not enough braking. I am still more a fan of the Avid Single digit 5. or 7. they cost a bit more but they work much better. Maybe a different lever would make the Promax V's perform better but these felt more like a Canti lever than a V-Brake lever. Other than that the Hardrock felt like a $1000 retro steelie, handling was spot on, ride was nice, The WTB Velociraptor tires were awesome as expexted. I have some ti-axle platform pedals coming and back to the stand for a brake swap
There are two kinds of people in the world, "Those who help themselves to people, and those who help people!"
