I'm reconditioning my old cannondale 3.0 so I can sell it. Someone before me overtightened the headset after installing the upper ball bearings and retaining ring upside down.
No problem in getting threaded headsets.

It would be handy if you knew the stack hight?

I am planning on taking it to a shop here in San Diego called Ye Olde Bike Shoppe because they're supposedly one of those places that has boxes of parts lying around. It may take them half an hour to find what you need, but they have it. Was just curious what manufacturers still make them.
I'm going to need a shop to remove the old and press in the new races anyway.
Stronglight, Miche, Tange and YST spring to mind. Shimano may still also be available. The last threaded one I bought, a couple of years ago, was a Tange.

Not bad, the bike shop I went to sold me a headset for $10 and installed it for $8. Dunno what brand he put on, but since I'm selling the bike I don't really care.
