Question regarding rear hub replacement for possible out of production bike?

Hi there,
I have a question in regards to either finding a replacement hub for my rear Mountain Bike or just replacing the whole wheel entirely. However when I went to a local bicycle shop (in China, that is so there are language barriers to keep in mind), upon inspection they claimed that the bicycle was too old to accept the replacement of their modern parts, which I honestly find hard to believe; or if it is true surely there shoud be an "old" part out part out there somewhere that could fit into the bike that I have.

So my question is, since I not familiar with all the different types of hubs compatible with different bikes (with the road or mountain bike kinds), is what they are saying true? I wouldn't call myself a bike expert, desipte myself fix or adjusting bicycle parts over the years, but it just sounds pretty bogus to me. I mean, it's news to me consideriHi there,

I mean, it's news to me considering it couldn't have been that old. It would be a shame to throw it away since it otherwise could've still have many years of life in it.

Here are the details of my bike

Brand: MELONE (Road Series: XQ500)

Wheel Size (Front & Back): 26 x 2.125 (57 - 559)
Rear Wheel: 250-450 kPa (35-65 psi / 2.6-4.5 bar)
Front Wheel: 200-560 kPa (30-80 psi / 2.0-5.6 bar)

And these are the photographs I've taken.

I don't even think the manufacturers even exist anymore plus I sure they're a Chinese exclusive, but Please let me know what you think.

Thank young it couldn't have been that old. It would be a shame to throw it away since it otherwise could've still have many years of life in it.

I would've attached the pictures I've taken of the bike and it's rear hub, but they don't appear to be going through for some reason?

You just need a hub that matches your drop outs.

Measure the drop outs in the back.

From the looks of it, you have a 135mm frame. You'll just need a 135mm rear wheel.

If you want to replace the rim only, you'll need the same hole count as your rear wheel. Also check what type of cassette you have. Typically, it will be Shimano Hyperglide. You need a hub of that type.

You'll probably need to buy new spokes for that build. Amazon or AliExpress has these kinda cheap, if you ask the shop what sizes you need. You should be able to score both for around $20/$30.

Thanks a lot ReapTha Whirlwind. I have been doing some digging, and apparently I learned that a bolt on axle is a lot larger than the clamp on ones. Mines a bolt on and I know that not all bikes can take a clamp on.

I also just took that mike to another Bike shop, and the owner mentioned something about the clamp on being an issue. Not sure if it's because of the size issue or whether not the owner didn't even have the tools to bolt it off for all I know. (Language barriers).

I wouldn't gotten the item you'd suggested but, I'm not sure what you mean by measuring the drop outs. Sorry I kinda new to these terms and equipment.

@HiMike did you fix this already? look for 135mm quick release hubs, you can purchase just the hub or the whole wheel up to yo on what kind of budget you want to have

The bolt on method is aesthetic mostly. It only matters in certain cases, such as if your bike had hooked drop outs, which it doesn't.

You can get a quick release hub for you bike and it will be fine.

Measuring the drop outs means the distance between them, because you need a hub with the proper reach in axle length to properly fix in the frame.
