Do you prefer to ride in the suburbs, or the city?

The city for sure, Midnight sprints doing what we call sidewalk cross, Bar hopping and parking deck racing .

depends on the bike lane infrastructure because it's a nightmare in some of the cities and then you don't want to ride the city center in heavy traffic.

anyway ... my choice is the city because I enjoy the rush

Smooth, pot-hole free roads devoid of cars, gormless pedestrians and muppet cyclists are my dream. Hard enough to find in the countryside, I doubt they exist in the city. I find it annoying enough trying to cycle in a town of 30,000 people. I can't imagine what it's like in a big city these days.

I prefer to ride in the city because I like being close to the hustle and bustle of city life.

Of course I have, we have a pretty decent bike path system inside the city, there is about 120 miles of multi use trails where I live, but I can't find out how many miles are paved.

The problem with our system is that they haven't connected most of them, so if you're on one and need to get to another you have to ride some distance on surface streets, which I don't mind, but why are they not connecting the paths? But overall it's not a bad system, it does have a lot of room for improvement, hopefully they'll get it done rather soon.

In Europe, I prefer city riding (although suburbs are ok)
In Asia, I prefer suburbs (cities are scary)
In the USA, both are scary as hell

Could not agree with this more, I feel like the city rides are either for commuting or just adventuring around and enjoying yourself while suburbs are definitely way better for training or on a mission to get in good shape, etc.
