Tire tube burst at stem
#1
I have over the years I’ve had considerable problem with my bike wheel tire tubes bursting beside the stem hole in the wheel. I’ve finally discovered a solution for this. For some reason tubes don’t make the reinforcement large enough to span the opening and the tube blisters out the edge of that hole and burst. Now I take a 2” tube patch and cut a hole in the middle just barely larg enough for the stem and attached the patch around the stem. If you don’t a hole punch for that then simply take a 1/4” wood chisel over a wood block and cut 1/4” square out. It should then fit tightly ver the stem.
