Miyata 310 1980 model value estimate

HI Folks,

I've got a nearly stock 1980 Miyata 310 that I got brand new way back then! Rear derailleur and seat post have been changed. Roughly, what sort of value does it have if I decide to sell? Still have original receipt and catalog. Thanks in advance.

You are probably looking around $100-$125 depending on condition. Those Miyatas were fairly heavy sport/recreational bikes just below entry level racers. Basic "Hi-Ten" steel frame with decent entry level components. It was probably about $200 brand new (you should know!), but even in near mint condition, I do not think you would get $200 except for that one person looking for that particular bike in the same size as yours.
You have a quality bike (Miyata has a very good reputation), but it is in the low end of their product range. I would think $75 as a minimum unless it is in poor condition.
Good tubes, tires, and bar tape help value a little, but they won't make the value rise too much; usually helps get a bike sold quicker though.

I use to have several Miyatas' never had the 310 but it was low-end model; I also think the value is around $100 to $125, maybe less if the condition is poor, maybe a bit more if it's in like new condition.

Just came across this thread today and it reminded me of the 300 series Miyatas I have had. Three in total, the oldest being a 1983, which I believe has the same frame as your 310. The other two where newer models with triple butted cro-mo tubing. All three were used as commuter bikes and were perfect for the job.

Agree with the previous estimates on value. Keep in mind overall condition will greatly affect value.
