cable loose from gear handle shifter

Hi, I'm new here. Just need some help right now for my grandson's Shocker 20 bike. The cable holder has come loose at the gripper handle and having trouble getting it back in. Any suggestions or where to get another 7 speed shifter for his bike? Thanks a lot. Sorry for not filling in any other "newbe" message, I'm currently baby sitting my other grandchild . That probably explains it all. 2 1/2 year old

Is the bike new? If so, take it to the bike shop where purchased to get it repaired...should be no cost. If bike not new, a bike shop can easily attach the cable if the shifter is not broken or tell you that the shifter is broken.

If need a new shifter and you are a DIY person, buy one on ebay or google and buy. If not a DIY person, then can buy from a bike shop and have them install.
