Welcome from Florida!
Here's a link to a general statement I made about getting a new or used bike. Granted there are other factors to consider than from what I mention, but you need a starting point for everything. If you ask specific questions, you'll get more specific answers that may help.
We have antique/vintage bike builders/riders (my main interest) to folks who ride and tinker on the newest carbon fiber stuff with electronics; including professional bike mechanics.
