Straightening a disc brake rotor
#1
Could you give me any useful ways that I can straighten a disk brake rotor without having to buy something?

Hi Daniel,
I don't have a lot of experience working with disc brakes, but I do know that they need to be precision aligned. You probably can't do this on the cheap... although, have you tried using an adjustable wrench?
Also, try posting the question here:
Some more disc rotor repair links here:
I hope you find that useful, let me know if you find any good tips on the subject.

Thanks for the web sites, actually I have looked at the bottom two sites and I think that I will try to fix my rotor. I have tried before but I think that I might have made it worse that time but I hope I will be more successful this time and I'm going to be more careful. I'm going to get some of my dads adjustable wrenches and put some bike tube in the middle so that I don't hurt the rotor. I'm also thinking of using a sharpie to see were the movement is. I found that the lesson on the back derailer to be interesting and helpful. if I mess up on the rotor I might just get my bike tuned up which it kind of needs.
Sincerely, Daniel Hacking
