Yet another clicking thread (with pics and vids) [Solved]
#1
I have just acquired a Cervelo Soloist 2006, has the Ultegra 6600 groupset. It was making a clickity grinding sound whenever I'm on the larger 2 or 3 sprockets (doesn't matter which chainring) when I'm pedalling hard and fast.

Anyways, took my crank, chain rings, and bottom bracket off to clean, inspect, regrease and retorque. Greased my new pedals and torqued them on. Adjusted my front derailleur and rear derailleur (have adjusted the B screw as well to give plenty of slack). Still no good. I've even fully slackened the lower limit on the FD so there's plenty clearance left and right of the small chainring, have also lifted the FD up to around 3mm clearance, all to try eliminate the FD as a source, but still the exact same noise. No change in terms of sound at all.

Here's a video with sound of my grinding sound.
Grinding when pedalling

You can see here that my chain lifts off the large chainring:
Chain Lift

You can see my chainring wear here (doesn't look to be worn):
Chainring

Check this video out of my sprockets and chain rings:
Cassette and Chainring Condition

I've measured the chain stretch and it's still within 1.5mm over 12inches.
Sprockets and chain ring look alright? Chain doesn't seem too stretched based on measurement?

I haven't taken the rear wheel and cassette off yet, maybe that could be it?

Let me know guys!!

Cheers Smile

OK after lots of troubleshooting I thought I'd give the equipment a little clean.
Cleaned my chain thoroughly and lubed it.

NOISE IS GONE!!!

Thanks for the update, could have been so many things making it hard to help without bike in hand. From the pics it does look like things are starting to wear some. seems like you ruled out freehub problems so when the time comes. Replace the chain and cluster @ the same time.
