Shimano BB-UN26 bottom bracket torque specs

Ello. I was just wondering if anybody knows what the torque settings for the cups and crank arms are on this? A piece of paper within the packaging states to consult the manual, but there isn't one, not even online (that I can find).

Also, which way does the cartridge fit onto the bike? As you can see in the image below it says.#



L < D - NL > R

Does that mean that the side without the metal threads goes to the drive side? I really appreciate any help. Thanks.

<-L means left and right-> means right.

Also, assuming you have english threaded BB (teh vast majority of bikes have this) then you want to make sure that you are using the correct threaded cup on each side. The drive side has reverse threads.

the"L" you put thru the drive side so it ends up on the left side, remember the right side probably has left hand threads, do not force or strip these threads in the shell

"R" goes toward the right side of the bike, "L" goes toward the left side of the bike. (When the bike is standing upright.)

Yes, the threads will only allow the cups to go on the correct side. But some BB's have removable cups on both sides so it is "possible" that the cup that's on there is on the wrong side.
