Nice set of Araya wheels. Back 26x175 He, front 26X 150 HE.

Nice.  Feel free to ship it to me    I have a set of black hubbed 40H wheels with black Velocity Aeroheat rims that would look good on it, along with Nashbar City Slick tires.

Hi Nigel, I take it you like this bike too. I'm looking forward to saving it from the scrap heap.  Too many real good bikes are being thrown away imo. It looks lightly used but not to well stored. I have a couple of things to finish up and then will jump into the repairs with both hands. The wheels on it are very good and very light. But the tires may need replacing.

Tell me! When you have narrow width wheels on the front versus the back, like this one has, are you suppose to put narrower width tires on the front to get the advantage of this set up?

For the paved surfaces, I put narrower tires on front, by a ratio of approximately 4:5, for example my PDG has 32mm wide on the front and 40mm wide on the back.  All of my builds to date, have the same rims front and rear.  Your latest project appears to have a replacement front wheel based on the hub and rim designs.  The rear hub and rim look appropriate for the vintage, the front looks much newer.

They are both Araya wheels. I have seen this combo on other bikes as well.

Had a good afternoon as I got the bike striped down and regreased the bottom bracket and headset.
