Gt pedal size issue. Need help
#1
Get guys, forum and bike repair noob here. I picked up a 1994 gt performer (always wanted one when I was a kid). The pedals are in bad shape and need to be replaced. I've done some research and 1/2 and 9/16 are the common size of pedals based on 1 or 3 piece cranks. I've measured the diamater of the threaded end and it's neither size. Anyone know off the bat whit size runs on my gt? It's bone stock btw.

Appears to be one piece crank, should be 1/2 inch, and should measure that as well.

The sizes are the maximum allowed major diameter of the threads, they will always be a bit under the size. For example, a 1/2" will probably measure around .49 inches.

Easiest thing is to remove one, take it to Wal-mart or local bike shop and compare.

Not one pedal has left hand threads, and the other has right hand threads.
