Threaded Inner tubes
#1
I purchased some inner tubes that are threaded all down the stem and have a nut. My question is do I need to use that nut and if so how tight do I need to adjust it.

Yes use it snug it up to the rim with light pressure.

You also need something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Panaracer-Schrader-Presta-Valve-Nut/dp/B001CJZ2M4/
is your rims are drilled for Schrader valves, and you have Presta valves. If you try to use a Presta valve tube in a rim drilled fro Schrader, and do not use something like this - the tube will blow when you inflate it.

Hmmm....... good point Nigel, he might have bought the wrong Presta valves for his Schrader rim. See how they fit in rim hole, should be tight. If not to late exchange the tube. Unless it is correct than just screw the nut down.

Texcards,

where did you get a threaded inner tube? If it is a schrader valve tube (like the one on your car) I'd like to know where you got it because I've sort of been looking for threaded schrader tubes. The only place I can find them is by Schwalbe. But you probably have a Presta tube.

BTW, The STL Cardinal's rock!
