How often should a bottom bracket be replaced?
#1
Hi

Just wanted to know how often a bottom bracket needs to be replaced. Would it be like once a year or does it really depend on how often and how much you ride your bike? And finally how would you know if it needs replacing? Would you feel an obvious problem whilst riding the bike?

Thanks

It is not how often, it is when it needs it.

The BB is the bearing system that supports the crank, you will feel it starting to go.

That said also depends on what type you have too. If it is a ball bearing type then I would say maintenance once a year. If it is sealed bearing then probably like the above stated.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
