While i was building my little sister a bike i found that my Adjusting barrel was mutilated, after tinkering around with it for a while and getting frustrated, i decided to take it to the forums. So, the problem i have is that i need to buy a new one and i don't know the correct size, is there any way to tell what the size is?
Take it in to a bicycle dealer and see what they have. You do not say where that's from , but looks like a brake part.
Never Give Up!!!
if they charge they charge you over $5 us just order a new rear derailluer for about $12. if that is where the problem is

There are two kinds of people in the world, "Those who help themselves to people, and those who help people!"
I think it is from a brake level if ya noticed the lockdown nut in the background. Common on low end bmx style brakes. If that is the case then most of them are the same size. If you have another bike for parts try using one from its brake lever. Should do the trick!
Also look at the threads inside on the current brake lever to make sure they are not destroyed or messed up.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
If that's out of the brake lever, it should be a M7. Approx $4 USD max at any LBS.

The NEXT I refurbed to loan a couple of months ago had the same issue with the brake adjusters - and the levers were NG also. Luckily scored a couple sets of Tektro MTB levers really cheap on ebay - less than $5- for each set - something like $15- for both sets delivered - not worth screwing around the elcheapo stuff when you can get decent ones for that price.

Too bad the ole boy doesnt answer as I may have the size he needs! I was going through my little junk tote and found a couple. If he needed it for his little sister I would send it to him free.
