Before you make that decision look on the top part a little closer! That looks to be a hex screw. Now as for the bottom look on the other side to see if it may have the same hex looking screw.

Hello,
Can anybody help me to find or repair the rear shock absor. of my BMW mtb "Super tech" 1996?
Thank you.
Have you tried to find any numbers or manufacturing data on the shock itself? Another idea maybe someone can help me out on this is to measure the shock and get a replacement with a different brand. I tried to google this bike and did not have much luck other then the fact that you have XTR groupset from Shimano.

Thank you for reply,i asked to BMW about shock's brand and they told me that it's a "Paioli" 150 mm. This manufacturer can not reply to me about because they are closed since 2006...
The fact is that i cant find the original part but i cant sent it to a specialist in order to repair it(dont know someone). In this point i would ask you to help me out because it concerns something very special like subject...And another problem is that i m in Greece and i cant trust greek specialist to rebuild this shock...
Ok now we have something to work with my friend. If you do some online shopping you can enter 150mm suspension shock in the search box. There should be something compatibility to replace it.
