Rear Road Derailleur upgrade question
#1
So here's the deal: 1997 Klein frame being upgraded from original Shimano RSX group. The crankset is 50/34 and the rear cassette is 7 speed 12-28. I have everything I need except a rear derailleur. The planned drivetrain would be 32T with max rear sprocket at 28 teeth. Any help on suggested derailleur? I have looked at old Dura Ace, Ultegra, Sante der. which are all 7 speed but they have a lower capacity than 32T or the max sprocket suggested is 26. I have also looked at newer Shimano RD2300. This der while heavier has a max capacity of 35T which is good but the max sprocket listed is 26t. Please help with any suggestions. Thanks!

This will work better than any derailleur from 1997:

I would like t see a pic of your bike, "This will work better than any derailleur from 1997" I disagree with Nigel n this one. That link would be a major downgrade. RD-2300 for the money should work fine

How about a mid-range MTB dérailleur? I guess that you could use one of those on this drive train.
