Simple (i think) brake problem

unhooked my brake cable to fix a flat and now that i hooked it to the brake again my brakes are way too tight. they grip the rim on both sides. any suggestions? thanks!--Dan

Check all housing to make sure they are seated properly in the bosses

what kind of brakes?

If linear pull (aka V brakes); most likely the noodle is not all the way seated.
