Torques settings for bolt on skewer - Trek Session 88
#1
I would appreciate if anyone has info on the correct torque settings for the bolt on skewer for the rear wheel of a Trek Session 88:

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/gravity/session/session_88

The torque setting markings on the skewer itself have been scored and are unreadable. Specific setting seem unobtainable from either the Trek site, or from Bontrager, whose wheel it is:

http://www.bontrager.com/model/07857/

I am in the process of contacting Trek and Bontrager for the settings, but any help from forum members with this would be appreciated in the meantime.
Lennard Zinn lists torque settings as high as 65nm for steel bolt on skewers, and 85nm for titanium.

Has anyone here dealt with this particular model and Bontrager wheels previously?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Can't really answer this one as I haven't messes too much with skewer wheelsets.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Hi Bill, thanks for the reply in any case.
Trek got back to me in this but were not able to provise a value for the torque required either. In fact, they said there were no recommended torque settings, this despite there clearly being a torque value printed on the skewer, which is no longer readable.
Had to settle for a guesstimate and hand tighten it.

I think maybe there was one I did. Was on a front only and I basically did just that and hand tightened it. Put some pressure on the wheel itself one both sides at different points and seemed to be tight enough.
