Can any one tell me what I have? Is it worth the hassle of trying to find original correct parts or should I just rat rod it?

Have you contacted any of these people:

As a collector item, there may be something to it. As a bike for commuting or similar riding, not worth anything at all. As a cruiser, it would be cool.

Thanks I googled Hawthorne yesterday and kept getting Dead ends/False listings and finally gave up. I will bookmark these new sites. I may just stick this thing away until I get my ole Schwinns done.

From what I'm learning these Hawthorne bikes are rare. There doesn't seem to be too many left that aren't in somebody's garden rusting away as decoration. I say try to make an original if you can, if your even able to find the parts that is.
