If i have a 7 speed cassette and i want to up grade to 8/9 speed cassette will i be able to do so on the same hub, or will i have to replace the hub or just stick with the classic 7 speed cassette?

Pictures of your current cassette setup would be helpful. Mostly a picture looking straight at it from the axle, so we know what type it is. Smile

8/9 speed cassettes will not fit a 7 speed hub. They are too wide.
You are limited to staying with 7 speed unless you fit a new 8 speed hub.

don't bother, unless you are into competition cycling,
more gears = more problems.
you will also need to change your shifters and rear changer and possibly your chain.
