Advice needed - Hub problem?
#1
Hey guys,

Bought a second hand dawes racing bike, and have recently been having a weird problem with it. When I am pedaling along, suddenly the pedals and wheels seem to become disconnected, and I am essentially treading water for a few seconds before suddenly they seem to reconnect and the bike is fine. Also when I am wheeling the bike along, the pedals now seem to rotate around with the wheels when they didn't before. Not really sure what the problem is, and how to fix it? Wondering whether someone with a bit more bike knowledge might know?

Thanks,

N

As Xray said it does sound like your freewheel or freehub is going bad or is gunked up. Read this thread and it should help you out... http://forums.bikeride.com/thread-1023.html
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
