Problem with rear wheel, Help needed!!

Hi,

I recently removed the rear wheel off by bike to replace a flat, I have done this countless times before, but for some reason this time what should be a simple job has become rather complicated.

I can get the rear wheel back on but I cannot get the derailleur into the correct position as it has become unscrewed, the chain is also tangle.

I have no idea how to fix the situation and any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated .

An area of fiddling situations which I find myself in many times. There are 2 ways you can do this. Easy way is to break the chain like this .. http://bikeride.com/chain-tool/ . Put the derailler... like this .. http://forums.bikeride.com/thread-1813.html . Put the wheel back on, then feed the chain back on like the first video shows. OR... sit and unravel until it is straitened out. Then use the second video to put that kind of derailler back on. It either got twisted once or twice to the left or right when it was taken off.

Thank you for the help, i tried it, got the chain free of kinks, Derailler on, wheel on chain back on, looked like it was done, but then chain kinked up again! Any reason why that may have happened?

When was the last time you cleaned/relubed your chain?

Its at least 6 months ago, if not longer.

Just for informations sake the derailleur was replaced 3 months ago, as it became damaged after jamming in the wheel.

Thanks again, I've worked out the problem, think a new derailleur is needed as the top seems to come out of shape as a result the wheel cannot fit in,and the when moved it pulls the derailleur out. Hopefully I've finally managed to fix it, fingers crossed!
