Stubby Bar Ends
#1
Hi

Been thinking of getting some bar ends for my Cannondale bike to improve the position of my hands and make it more comfortable when riding.

I don't really like the look of the massive "cow horn" style bar ends, I have seen some stubby ones that are about 3 and a half inches long and like the look of these.

Anyone got any experience of stubby bar ends and are they worth getting as a first bar end purchase?

This is a site I use to get the latest gen on parts, it's a trade site, you can't buy from them, but they quote rrp. and they have loads of items for all types of cycling.

Hey Surreypete.

Do not know what bike you got road or MB, sounds like MB. I have the so called by you cow horns by Scott USA.They work great and I like the look. The important thing in riding is to have different positions for your hands to reduce fatigue. These add several positions to flat bars . The straight end ones just add one. Anything helps.

Oh YE. to add if you are climbing hills the extra front position on the "cow horns" allows you to put more weight on your front wheel, and a better climbing position.

Yeah it's a Mountain bike, a Cannondale F500.

I might go for a set of cow horns yet, I'm being a bit of a tart at the moment and I'm going for colour coded ones in yellow to match the handlebar grips and gripshifts.

I did see a really cheap pair of stubbies in Tesco, only a couple of pound so were worth a punt but it seems they stopped doing them, for that money I was gonna get them powdercoated yellow by a local chap I know that does it.

Other then that I have seen Massi stubby ones but they are just under £20 so seem expensive for what they are, not sure on the make either as never heard of them.
