New front derailleur needed for a compact crank?
#1
I just ordered a compact crank, 50x34, changing from the 53x39 I presently have. My rear cassette is a 11-23. My front derailleur is a Shimano Ultegra 6600. Does anyone know if the front derailleur will handle that okay?

I would say just try it.
You may have to lower it a fraction?

The 6600 has a "capacity" of 16 teeth so in theory 50-16 = 34 so should be fine.
Ride hard or ride home alone!

Have a look on Shimano's web site, should find this info under tech support or service centre.
