Our 19 year old cat was quite interested in this one. The bike is a Norco Katmundo. Hi Tensil Steel . I have to reworked the bearings, new chain, surface rust removal and a good clean up should do it. Nice to see these bikes come back to life.  Yesterday I oiled all the bolts and buts. Will do them again today. This one I had to pay $15 bucks for. A little steep maybe.

Right now I am working on a Norco Ladies bike with 700c wheels, real nice commuter, that I pulled off of the scrap heap for free. Had to replace the rear bent axel as the end was bent. This is the first axel I have replaced and was surprised to see they run only $10. Bought 2 new tires and one tube. The wheels were nice and true so that was a nice plus.  I'm $68 dollars into this one and that should be it, I think? Have yet to set the derailleurs up.

Thats cool Elmore. I have alway's felt that old bikes belong! I would much rather dump money into a quality older bike than spend more on a new one. My standards are simple. 95%+ perfect, and if having to replace parts they must be equal to or better than original. Of era being a plus also. These would be A grade bicycle's, everything else are B grade user's. Still nice but overall paint will fall short of the 95%+ perfect goal. (without restoration).

Has possibilities Elmore. I like the looks of that bike. I am still working on a diamondback and keeping my eye out on the yard sale ads for a nice classic steelie. Looks like a nice frame. I know the newer NORCO's are nice. What kind of shape are the shocks in? Good luck.

Shocks? Good question. They are still protected and rust free. Not sure how to test them. That will be the next thing to read up on. They have some movement but they do not bottom out easily.

That's a good thing they don't bottom out! Interested to see how she turns out.
