Carbon seatpost and aluminum frame

I'm putting a carbon seat post in an aluminum frame. Does it matter what type of grease I use?

I really would not suggest any. If I am right and hopefully someone will verify or correct me that being it is a Carbon material it should not be greased or anything.

The carbon seat post came with grease. I'll be taking the seat post off to do maintenance. I've been told not to clamp onto a carbon seatpost due to poss damage.?

Hi Mikeyatc i have a easton EC70 carbon seatpost on my cannondale Caad8 Aluminum Frame and i used Philwood Grease and is Fine no Problem

Hmm maybe I was thinking the opposite carbon frames should not have grease in the seat post tube?

I think you want carbon paste, not grease, for the carbon seat post.
