Does anyone want to post pictures of their workshop or bench, etc?

Hi there,

I wanted to see if anyone wanted to share photos of their workshop, workspace, stands, toolboards, benches, etc? My space is way to spread out as I store and service the bikes in the basement, true wheels in my office, and have a scattered bench, vise, cabinets, etc. in the garage. Most of my decent tools stay with the truing stand in the office. The set up doesn't make much sense and will likely all be moved to the basement and garage.

I want to post pictures of my psuedo work shop. I have turned my conodos' sunroom into a small cramped workspace.

ok so here is my first stab at having my own workshop. I just cleared out our sunroom in our condo and claimed it for all my bike stuff. I don't reall have a huge area to work in, so when we move in to a house in a few years I'll be sure to create a larger work space.

Anyone else have any cool setups. My father had an awesome work shop out behind their house and had it all hooked up. I hope to have something that cool someday. I'd settle for just a garage though.

WOW that is a kool setup! How did they get my A/C unit from my house? There is one thing wrong with that picture.... it's to clean!

Yeah, way too clean, but that is an amazing setup. I would love to have a chance to dirty it up.

If I get a chance I'll take a pic of my little place of freedom in the basement. As for storage I keep "some" of my bikes in the garage. The only thing I am missing is a peg board backing. Where to start to find a cheap piece of that? Yes that is an awesome bike shop. This is the kind of shop that Robert Van Der Plas would have.

No way I can post pics of my little work shop at this time its just to cold to take pics and way to cold to work on anything too.lol As far as tools goes most of mine are Stanley tools mixed with Pedor's and some Park tools.And I keep them in a Stanley work bag its heavy as heck too.I need to clean out my shop some how so I could hang most of them up and a peg board would work great now if I could only get my wife to let me throw her stuff out of my way hmmm!

I have a couple of videos of the bench my framebuilder uses. he has all old school campagnolo tool for frame building and a lot of jigs and tool he has made himself some 20-30 years. it is funny how some of them look just like new patented jigs. he came up with many of them years before they became popular

Here is my little setup not pretty or cleaned up by far but works. Also included is a picture of my homemade Bicycle stand holding the Next Bike.

Nice setup Bill. Looks like you have been at it a while. Smile My shop is in serious need of organization so I'll just a post a few selected photos. The first and second are of my homemade work bench/welding table on casters. It weighs in at around 200lbs so the casters are heavy duty rated at 450lbs each. The table top is 3/8" thick mild steel, 22"x48". My avatar shows me building the work bench. Smile

PHOTO 3: My homemade bicycle stand for use in a vise. I plan to add foam rubber and duct tape to protect bicycles.

PHOTO 4: A Drill Press I bought on Craigslist recently for $75, has 5/8" chuck and 16 speeds. I had to jump quick with 3 or 4 others right behind me trying to buy it too.

PHOTO 5: You probably saw my air compressor already. I'm still installing steel pipe around the garage to help remove moisture for using paint guns.

PHOTO 6: And finally, my pride and joy, the welder. It's a Miller Thunderbolt stick welder, AC/DC, sitting on my homemade cart.

Thank you Steve, yours is awesome , reflects alot. Especially mobility and the fact that any place no matter how small or large the area a bike can be worked on. That homemade cart is pretty sweet. I was gonna buy a little work bench from lowes for around 189.00 but instead spent WAY less putting together what is shown. Wood works just as well as steel in some instances. The one thing I will probably not get into is welding, although I have done some in my early years, just not that good lol. But again very setup!!

I am jealous of all of you.

I'm a student in rented accommodation so my "workshop" consists of the small space just round the back of the house (open-air) and a brick shed that's mainly used for storing bikes and tools (most of which are in a large plastic box). I have a roll of old carpet to keep the oil off the ground when I work outside, but no workstand Sad .

Bill- How did you make that bike stand? looks pretty cool and ideal for where I'm staying
