Hi all,
I have been rebuilding an old 1985 Schwinn World. While taking apart and cleaning up the rear axle components I found that both the cone end-caps had some damage as shown in the attached photo. (for the benefit of others like me). Oddly enough the axle cones were fine though.
After looking around the 'net, I am guessing that this end-cap no longer has a replacement available. However, I did find that I can purchase a replacement wheel set. I can pick up an Avenir front and rear for $50 total on Amazon. And I am also guessing I need to stay with the original size of 27"x1-1/4" rims in order to line the brakes up properly. Any help is appreciated.
And yes, I am new at this bicycle rebuilding thing.
