Why my sidepull capiler brake squeaks?

I got a new trek 1.2 in March. The rear brake functions pretty well but after a ride, it started squeaking when I apply the break. I checked the rear brake. The pads are in correct position and I recentered the brake. But the noise doesn't go away. That sound really bothers me although the brake is still functioning well. Is there any way to fix that problem?

If you have some sandpaper, you can try rubbing it on the pad to wear off a small amount of the pad.

return to your supplier for service, should be free.

You can also look in the pads themselves for small metal particles or dirt. Hopefully the rubber did not go to a hardened state.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
